Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, talk about the perils of social media, online bullies and how they’re hoping to help families impacted by online harm, in an exclusive interview with “CBS News Sunday Morning” anchor Jane Pauley.

“Our kids are young. They’re three and five. They’re amazing,” Markle told Pauley in an interview to air on Sunday, August 4, and streamed on Paramount+. “But all you want to do as parents is protect them. And so, as we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there, and we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good.”

The couple is launching a new program called The Parents Network with their charitable Archewell Foundation, which supports parents whose children have been impacted by online harm.

During the interview, Pauley also spoke with parents participating in the pilot program, who open up about how it helped them in their healing process after their child took their own life.

“At this point, we’ve got to the stage where almost every parent needs to be a first responder,” said Prince Harry. “And even the best first responders in the world wouldn’t be able to tell the signs of possible suicide. That is the terrifying piece of this.”

On Friday, Meghan Markle reunited with two close friends at a business event in the Hamptons. The next day, makeup artist Bobbi Brown posted a picture with the duchess and her longtime friend Misha Nonoo at the G9 Ventures Summer Summit in East Hampton to her Instagram account.

In the photo, Meghan wore an oatmeal-colored linen vest and trousers by St. Agni. Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Katie Couric, Julianne Hough, Naomi Watts, and Spanx founder Sara Blakely were reportedly also on the guest list for the event organized by G9 Ventures, a firm that invests in early-stage startups founded by entrepreneur Amy Griffin.

According to Page Six, Meghan traveled to the exclusive enclave via private jet with entrepreneur Jamie Kern Lima, the co-founder of IT Cosmetics. Sources who spoke to the tabloid said the duchess was attending the summit to get some tips on launching American Riviera Orchard, the lifestyle brand she announced back in March. Lima later posted photos with Meghan at the event to her own Instagram, including one where the pair are sitting next to former anchor Diane Sawyer.

Fashion designer Nonoo, who married heir Mikey Hess in 2019, has known Meghan for nearly a decade and attended her May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry. Brown, who left her eponymous beauty brand in 2017 to become the founder and face of Jones Road, has worked with Meghan in the past, including a September 2016 promotional video where Brown taught the future duchess how to apply makeup in the back of an Uber.

Meghan announced her plan to start American Riviera Orchard with a new Instagram account and a soft-focus video earlier this year, and its products are expected to make it to the general public sometime soon. Though a trademark application filed for the brand lists a large array of potential products, including yoga mats, nut butters, and aromatherapy oil diffusers, so far only a few sneak peeks at Meghan’s new wares have been made public. In March, she began to send out limited-edition jars of jam to a list of friends that included Tracy Robbins and Delfina Blaquier. By April, the list of recipients was thought to include Kris Jenner, Mindy Kaling, Chrissy Teigen, and longtime friends Abigail Spencer and Kelly McKee Zajfen.

Meghan Markle is exploring moms in the media.

The Duchess of Sussex, who worked as an actress on shows such as Suits before marrying Prince Harry and welcoming their two children, 4-year-old son Prince Archie and 2-year-old daughter Princess Lilibet, joined forces with Moms First and the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media for a new study about the representation of mothers in entertainment. Meghan and Prince Harry’s Archewell Foundation funded the study, according to Vanity Fair, which was first to report the news.

“My past experience as an actress, and now today as a producer and mother, have amplified my belief in the critical importance of supporting women and moms both behind the lens and in front of it,” Meghan, 42, said in a statement, according to the outlet. “This report about the portrayal of mothers in entertainment highlights the gaps we need to fill to achieve true representation in the content we create and consume, and I’m honored to support this work through the Archewell Foundation.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just got an online makeover.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quietly launched a new website, Sussex.com, on Monday. The site encompasses the latest news about the couple, bios for Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, as well as links to their Archewell Foundation organization and Archewell Productions hub.

The homepage features a photo of Prince Harry and Meghan in Germany at the 2023 Invictus Games closing ceremony in September. The image of the duo smiling and clapping is a favorite of the pair, as they also chose it as the picture for their holiday card last year.

Under Meghan’s coat of arms, which incorporates Prince Harry’s crest, the text on the homepage reads: “The office of Prince Harry & Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

The most recent update on the news tab is Prince Harry’s appearance on Thursday at the NFL Honors in Las Vegas, where he presented the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year to Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward.

“Prince Harry has long advocated for the power of sport for healing and building community. He was honored to present this award and highlight the importance of giving back,” the page stated.

Their Archewell Foundation website also underwent a makeover to coordinate with the new website. Instead of a beige background, the non-profit organization’s homepage features a similar blue theme.

The couple’s former website, SussexRoyal.com, now redirects to the new address. A pop-up message on the webpage reads: “This site was established in 2020 and sets out the work streams of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex prior to their move to the United States. To learn more about the Royal couple and their philanthropic endeavours, click here.”

After Meghan and Harry married in May 2018, news about their royal work appeared on the @KensingtonRoyal accounts alongside updates about Prince William and Kate Middleton. The following year, the couple launched a separate Instagram page, @SussexRoyal, as part of the plan to establish a separate office from William and Kate.

Months after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry parted ways with Spotify, their next move in the podcasting world is revealed.

The Duchess of Sussex signed a new podcast deal with Lemonada Media. After Deadline was first to report the news on Tuesday, an announcement went up on the couple’s new website.

In addition to the one season of her Spotify series Archetypes now being distributed to all podcast platforms, Meghan is also set to launch a new show that she will host, although no further details on the untitled project have been revealed.

“I’m proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting,” Meghan said in a statement. “Being able to support a female founded company with a roster of thought provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024. Our plan to re-release Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast are well in the works. I’m so eager to be able to share it soon, and am overjoyed to be joining the Lemonada family.”

Aweek after making waves with a trip to Jamaica, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have another international trip in the works. On Friday, the Invictus Games Foundation announced that the couple will be traveling to Canada on February 14 to attend the One Year to Go event for the 2025 Vancouver Whistler Invictus Games. Along with the news, the foundation shared new photos of Meghan and Harry at the 2023 Games in Düsseldorf taken by their friend Misan Harriman.

Next year, the Invictus Games will return to Canada for the first time since Toronto hosted in 2017, where Meghan and Harry made their official debut as a couple. Planning for the 2025 Games, the first to be held during winter, began when Vancouver’s successful bid was announced in April 2022. “The Invictus Games Vancouver-Whistler 2025 will offer a global platform to expand the range and profile of winter adaptive sports,” Harry said at the time. “With deep respect, I’m also pleased to share that the Games in Canada will be held in partnership with the First Nations, in the spirit of truth and reconciliation with indigenous communities.”

Meghan and Harry last made a public trip to Canada in November, when Harry dropped the first puck at a hockey game between the Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks as a part of the preparation for the 2025 Games. Later, he and Meghan were photographed celebrating in the stands.

More news about the couple’s Archewell Productions studio and its partnership with Netflix came out at a Wednesday Netflix event. According to Hello!, the company’s Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria told the audience at its Next on Netflix presentation that Meghan and Harry have been working on a number of projects, including some with Brandon Riegg, the streamer’s vice president of unscripted and documentary series. Riegg, who joined Netflix in 2016, oversaw the company’s expansion into reality TV, which has produced hits like Queer Eye, Love Is Blind, and Tidying Up with Marie Kondo.

“They have a couple of unscripted things they’re working on with Brandon,” Bajaria said. “And they actually have like a bunch of development, they have a movie in development, a [scripted] series that they’re working on. So all very early development, with a movie, a TV show and a couple of unscripted shows.”
